Deputy Headteacher (Primary School)
Full-Time | Permanent | Leadership Scale (L6 – L10)
Are you an ambitious and compassionate leader ready to make a lasting impact? Alderman Bolton Primary are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our dedicated team and play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school community.
About the Role
As Deputy Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement and uphold the highest standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.
You will be a visible and proactive presence across the school, modelling excellence and fostering a culture of respect, resilience, and high expectations. In the absence of the Headteacher, you will confidently lead the school, maintaining clarity, consistency, and strong decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a calm, purposeful learning environment
Champion inclusive practice, with a strong focus on SEN and SEMH provision
Support and coach staff to deliver high-quality teaching and effective behaviour management
Use data and insight to drive improvements in pupil outcomes and wellbeing
Work in partnership with families, external agencies, and stakeholders
Deputise for the Headteacher, providing clear and confident leadership when required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have proven leadership experience within a primary setting
Demonstrate strong expertise in behaviour, SEN, and SEMH
Hold uncompromisingly high expectations for all pupils and staff
Be resilient, reflective, and solution-focused
Communicate with clarity, empathy, and authority
Be committed to inclusion, equity, and excellence for every child
