Every term, our school hosts SEN coffee mornings, inviting parents and various specialists to come together and share valuable insights. These sessions provide a supportive environment where parents can ask questions and receive guidance on a range of topics. The presence of SENDIAS and Addvanced Solutions was particularly beneficial, offering practical advice and information on available courses for parents of pupils with SEN. Overall, these coffee mornings have become a valuable resource for our community, fostering collaboration and support. Here's some of the comments our parents said One parent shared, "We asked for the SEN Governor to attend and she came along to support us. She was really helpful—answered our questions and offered support with understanding the EHCP process and what the school can do while we're waiting." Another parent mentioned, "I asked about SENDIASS and someone from the team came to meet us. It was so helpful—one parent said, ‘I was able to get advice on the timeframe my daughter had waited for an assessment. The school have been great and, with that extra advice, we managed to get her assessed much more quickly.’” Parents also appreciated the transparency and reassurance provided by learning about the formal complaint process, with one stating, "It was really useful to find out who we can contact if we ever feel the need to make a formal complaint. It made things feel more transparent and gave us reassurance that there’s a clear process if we need it."
